Patzcuaro is one of the 100 Historic World Treasure Cities recognized by the United Nations. In 1553, Patzcuaro received its Coat of Arms from King Charles V of Spain.
Spending one day in Patzcuaro will allow you the chance to visit her many churches including Basilica of Nuestra Señora de la Salud, browse her elegant galleries, take in the Museo de Artes e Industrias Populare, and visit the Gertrudis Bocanega Library to view the phenomenal mural by Juan O'Gorman which depicts the history of Michoacan.
